For months, I’ve been so excited about it finally being spring. Even though in the Netherlands the weather doesn’t seem to want to change, the preparation for spring has began. As I said in another post, spring time in Amsterdam is one of my favorite things ever. So I’ve been daydreaming about ditching this massive coat for a nice tea dress and faux leather jacket.
The best thing about spring here is that it’s heating up so you can wear nice dresses without shivering, but it’s not too hot so that your make-up melts off. My skin’s oil production increases during the summer, so I often opt to wear less make-up during the daytime.
This spring, I decided to change up my look a bit and do some experimentation with my make-up. One look that I am really interested in trying is a classic lip with minimal barely there eyes and natural brows. The red lipstick look was seen on Badgley Mischka 2018 spring show, and I’m so into it. I would skip the peachy eyeshadow with this look. The colorful lip brings drama to a neutral subtle clean face, it’s so classic and hard to get wrong.
Orange eyes may have been a trend from last year but it still is a good look for the spring. From a bold to more subtle orange, this look is great for so many skin-tones. The look that I really like is a solid tone paired with a glossy nude lip and bronzer on the cheeks.
A look slightly like the “no-makeup” make-up look, but with more of a bronz-y and glow-y touch. Natural brows, light mascara, a hint of lipbalm, maybe even a pop of coral blush. The focus of this look is the skin, making it look flawless and youthful.
Coral eyeshadow with pink lips. I really love a not-so-defined eyeshadow look with just a coat of black mascara. I think that this combo goes well on everyone’s skintone and I love how the coral makes brown eyes stand out.
Gloss is back and I’m excited! The teenager in me is so ready for this trend to come back around. When it comes to gloss, it can be hard to find a good formula… some are too sticky, runny, giving you that nasty white stuff on the inside of your lips (yuck!). There are some brands that just kill it. Add gold highlighter and its such a spring look.
Comment and let me know what spring looks you are trying this year.
