7 Natural Ingredients for More Moisturized Hair

Without a good conditioner, curly hair would be a mess! Constant frizz, split ends, breakage, brittleness, and rough texture are things we can do without. With a proper conditioning routine, the hair can become smoother, hydrated, more elastic, and healthier.

With some many types of conditioners on the market, it can be difficult to find the right one to meet your hair type and hair needs. Luckily, there are ingredients that can be found in your home for a fraction of the price, that are just as effective and natural.

Here are 7 of those natural ingredients that can be used to create a DIY mask.

  1. Green Tea
    Green tea contain 5-alpha-reductase inhibiting properties that helps to block dihydro-testosterone, which is a key cause of hair loss. In recent studies, green tea has shown to prevent hair loss.
  2. Avocado
    Avocado is one of nature’s perfect foods, containing healthy fats, protein and oils that help to moisturize your hair. The moisture from avocado does not weigh the hair down, which makes it a suitable ingredient for fine hair.
  3. Coconut Oil
    Coconut oil is another one of nature’s wonders! This oil is can penetrate deep within the hair shaft, giving the hair lots of moisture. Coconut oil is heavy so its great for thick hair, however, if you have fine hair then use sparingly.
  4. Honey
    A natural humectant, honey attracts and retains moisture in the hair. It’s one of my favorite ingredients to use, as it always leaves my hair softer than any conditioning treatment I’ve ever used. Mixing it with a deep conditioning treatment leaves hair super soft and defined.
  5. BananaBananas are amazing for your hair, but it can be chunky so mixing it with an oil can help creating a good treatment. Bananas are rich in natural oils, potassium, and vitamins, which helps to soften hair, increase shine, prevent dandruff, protect the hair’s natural elasticity, prevent split ends, breakage and adds moisturize.
  6. Carbonated Water
    The low pH level in carbonated water helps to reduce frizz and clarifying the hair. A clinical study found that carbonated water helps with blood circulation. After washing your hair, try rinsing your hair with carbonated water.
  7. Apple cider vinegar
    An apple cider vinegar rinse helps to clarify the hair. The acidity in the apple cider vinegar also helps to seal the cuticles, this causes the cuticles to lay flat making the hair smooth and shiny.
