The use of aloe vera has been around for hundreds of years and the plant has been seeing a rise in popularity again in the world of skincare. Various studies have shown that aloe vera does have many properties that are effective in treating a variety of skin conditions. If you are suffering from dry skin, acne, hair, aging, scalp problems and other issues, aloe vera may be something to incorporate into your skincare routine.
What is in aloe vera?

The hormones and anti-microbial properties in aloe vera promotes wound healing (cuts, scrape), sunburn healing, acne, psoriasis, eczema, blisters, itchiness and the reduction of inflammation in the skin. Aloe vera helps the skin to disinfect wounds, heal quickly, soothes the skin and reduces the possible scarring.

Aloe vera gel is great to add to your skincare routine. I use it once a day during my night time routine and I’ve noticed that my acne heals much faster than before. I’ve noticed brighter skin and a reduction in the visibility of my acne scars.
I’ve been using the Aloe Vera Soothing Gel by Holika Holika (a Korean skincare brand). I purchase it off Beauty Bay for around 9 euro. It’s really worth the price. I’ve had it for around 3 months, and it’s still more than half full. You only need one bead of the gel for an application to your whole face and neck. Plus the bottle is pretty cool!
